![]() ![]() I am unsure how to upgrade drivers etc (which are very out of date) so will have to do some research. I feel like it has played at a decent rate once upon a time so hopefully these additional fixes help. Gosh thank you so much for this additional information and the quick link references. Most importantly, ensure SteamVR resolution is set to automatic. Use HVEC encoding (latency) in the desktop app. Looks like you Windows is a little behind:Īutomatically adjust screen resolution in Quest virtual desktop menu. Originally posted by Red Fox:Make sure you have the latest apk/desktop app here: I was so excited to play this game so pretty disappointed. There is so much information online I am a bit overwhelmed so looking for a few easy steps to try that someone can suggest? The main steam VR screen is equally if not more Blurry so maybe it is a connection issue? If this is an issue - I am not sure how to safely update these? With drivers and RAM can I update it online or is it something that needs to go through a comp technician? I think my computer is pretty up to scratch aside from the drivers and low RAM. Is this just a virtual desktop issue/bad internet issue? Enough to force myself to play but today I gave up because it was just too uncomfortable after 5 minutes. When I walk really close to a wall it is incredibly blurry and my hands/weapons also seem a bit difficult to see. Its giving me a headache and I am almost certain its gotten worse. If it doesnt work, then you may have to launch oculus home before starting VD. Open up the hidden items in your task bar (the ) in the lower right and right click (B) the green VD streamer icon. However I have noticed over time I am finding it harder and harder to play due to the increasing blurriness. Get VD running on PC and Quest in desktop view mode. I knew there would likely be some performance/graphic issue with the Virtual Desktop so initially it wasn't a big deal that it wasn't perfect. When I first started the game, the graphics seemed okay. I managed to get it working on Virtual Desktop. The main reason I purchased it was mostly to play Half Life Alyx. Slo-mo was great and fun, and regular speed was a blast.I recently bought an Oculus Quest & it's pretty great. Game looked great (although a little too bright- could be my need to lower the Gamma down from 1.00). I should also say I did the tweaks that Baron always recommends: Might try to push my luck and do 64 bitrate later today. I didn't think in a million years a bitrate below 50 would work while looking good, but it did. Someone also mentioned that the latency drastically increases once you pass 80 on the bitrate (and you get FPS issues with the higher bitrate). Video Buffering: off (except during Surv1v3, and the last B&S battle)Ĭrazy how High Graphics and a low bitrate keep the FPS up, the latency down, but also look good enough! I could not find any info about this at all, until tonight. Never dropped below 50fps and felt GREAT. ![]() ![]() just melee and some people throwing lightning and fireballs, but it kept up. Some stutters and a tiny bit of lag, but looked damn good.īack over to B&S, with bitrate 48 (trying to keep the "by 4" multiplier). FPS didn't perform as well over there, sadly (occasional drops to 28 and latency spikes for some reason- all the way up to 93ms). FPS never dropped below 62 I don't think (I have it set to 90fps, and 90hz, with my Quest 2). ![]() That was dope.ĭid 1v2 and 1v1 at the Market, and had some good gameplay. Latency was between 27 and 43 most of the time. they looked good even at 32 but the slight increase was nicer. I upped it to 45 bitrate to make the graphics look a little better. Even 1v5 battles (mostly in Arena, to be safe). I tried B&S using the High thing, at bitrate 32. Someone mentioned that in Virtual Desktop, they found that Medium Graphics at 80 bitrate looked about the same as High Graphics at only 32 bitrate, but most importantly- lower latency. I was reading a ton of Reddit threads earlier. I posted this on Reddit about a week ago: ![]()
